Stockholm Hotels

I went to Stockholm partly for leisure partly for other reasons: my son will work there for three months and I went to help him settle as well as to see the sights. Rica Hotel Stockholm is one of the Rica chain and it was on a a very central point with Hotorget (the open flower market) at one end and Stureplan (a very central and beautiful spot where all Stockholm gathers at one point or another) at the other, with all the shopping district around us, subway at 2 blocks away! This hotel is situated some distance from the centre of Stockholm. To get there you have a 20 minute metro trip and another 5 minutes on the bus. I guess this is a bit of a hassle, but on the positive side it lets you see more of the city. The bus stop is 30 seconds from the front door of the hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. My spouse and another couple and I stayed for 7 nights in this hotel in the last week of October. The rooms were comfortable with excellent decor and ultra modern shower facilities. The front desk staff were particularly obliging in ringing up and making reservations for taxis and restaurants. The breakfast was generous and the staff coped admirably with sudden rushes of customers every morning. Stayed at this hotel in June 08 with 3 friends, reception was friendly, got our rooms straight away, was not dissapointed in our rooms. Its a convinient place to stay cause it's 1 minute walk from T-centralen metro station and all the shops, bars and restaurants are nearby. My friends and I LOVED the buffet breakfast at this hotel, they had so much to choose from, i.e swedish pancakes, fruit, fresh bread, cereals, yougurt, tea, coffee, sausages, eggs, etc etc tec it was SOOO much i couldnt belie - Alexandre

After booking a room at the sister hotel Rex we were moved to the Hellsten and upgraded. The room was very large but in the basement (only a tiny window at the top of the room). (The hotel also has rooms on higher levels.) The design was very modern and stylish and the room was very clean. We had a huge comfy bed and a large TV. You get all your basic need from this hotel for a great price. Less than 5 min walk to the underground station. You can also walk to the shopping and nice life area in 15 min. Very nice and friendly staff. Great breakfast is provided too. Definitely will use this hotel again for the next trip to Stockholm - Paul

I have nothing but praise for the hotel. Within moments of our arrival the very helpful receptionist ironed out what could have been a major problem. I am lactose intolerant and when travelling I have to carry a supply of lactose-free milk which even in the long-life version needs to be kept in a fridge. Sadly (and I'm not sure why) some - perhaps all -Best Western hotel rooms have no minibars which double as a fridge. I stay 2 night at the Berns. the location is perfect, and the service is one of the best I saw. Everything was perfect during my stay. Rooms are quiet and confortable. The hotel is a good miw between Classic for Meeting room and contemporary for the rooms. Also Breakfast buffet is fantastic, and if you stay at the berns don't forget to have a diner at their famous Japanese restaurant. Fantastic stay. - Karen

We liked this hotel very much. The staff were friendly and very helpful. the room itself is like a mini studio, with a kitchen, spacious bathroom with shower, a small sitting area. etc. the bed was very comfortable, the room and hotel overall very clean. i enjoyed my stay. hotel is within walking distance from Thorildsplan metro stop, but if you're carrying not too heavy baggage, it is an easy find and a pleasant walk. Since I booked well in advance and took advantage of a weekend special, I was able to save money on an otherwise typically expensive hotel. I was very impressed by the desk service, location to Arlanda Express (approx. 20 meters), central location and easy walking distance to Gamla Stan and public transportation system. It was a while ago we stayed in this hotel (Feb 2008) but I have to write a review anyway! We were only in Stockholm briefly for 2 nights, so it worked out we got to see one full day in the city, but we crammed in so much it was unbelievable, I always feel looking back like we were there about 3 days we did that much! Anyway the hotel, the outside is really nice, it is a 300 year old inn that has been done up as a hotel. The reception area was lovely with an open roaring fire and friendly staff - Susan

Brillian Brilliant Brilliant, Myself and 3 friends stayed there because of its central location. We were not disappointed lovely hotel and fantastic rooms, staff were very friendly. Drinks in the bar were expensive but that par for the course in Stockholm. If you fancy a few beers and want to see some of the best looking women in the world then this is on your door step.
