The staff are very kind and helpful, the place is near the granvia and sol metro, very convinient, the room are clean.

The location is superb (if a little hard to find down a side street). Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to do everything to make our stay perfect. Was concerned a "hostal" might not be up to scratch but it was like any other 3 star accommodation. Room was large with fairly new ensuite and very comfy beds. There was nothing we didn't like and would definitely stay again.

We were in Madrid for 2 nights and found the Hotel was situated in a good part of the city to get around and see the sites as well as be in the hub of the nightlife.

Fairly basic room, though clean and comfortable. The only thing I would say as a negative is the no view window just looking onto a wall.

Staff were excellent; really helpful and knowledgeable. I was in a single room, which was small, but very, very clean and the shower room was modern and well-appointed. Location is excellent: my friend from Madrid described it as being "in the centre of the centre of the centre!"

Would have liked a safe locker or similar to store valuables/passport/documents, etc. during stay.

The location is perfect - very close to center of Madrid. Room equipped with LCD TV + USB. Plenty of nearby restaurants+bars+nightclubs.

For such a great price this hotel was clean, modern and had great amenities. There is a lift which is great when you have luggage and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our stay cost us half per night of where we went onto in Barcelona and was twice as nice.

Location is perfect, very easy acces, metro station a couple of meters away, clean and very good quality for your money. The entire staff was wonderful, it doesn`t happen often that you get that much support and friendly advice already before your arrival (special thanks again to Shan), not to mention upon your stay.

The hostel is very central, as in 3 minutes walk and you're in the heart of Madrid which is Gran Via. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, especial mention to Shan Sabio who made our stay memorable and she was brilliant in guiding us the best places to visit in Madrid. I would love to stay here again...very good value for money!

Very good location, just off Gran Via and Gran Via Metro station. Walking distance to most attractions and plazas. Very modern clean and comfortable. Friendly staff.

Hostal Mendoza is located in perfect place: next to the central street of Madrid - Gran Via and Puerta del Sol, where you can take the tourist- bus and travel all over the city. Our double-room on the second flour was always clean, the furniture and bathroom (with all the accessories) were new, we had even flat TV-set and the balcony. There was no breakfast, but it was not a problem for us, because there are a lot of cafes and restaurants next to Mendoza.Staff on reception was very kind and positive (great respect to Shan!!!) I think in Hostal Mendoza you can find a perfect offer for price and quality.

Staff very nice, friendly, and helpfull, including the manager, they can give you good advice where to go. i belive they are the strong point of this hostal as well as their super location!!

The cleaning was not perfect, the rooms dust was brushed under the bed. We even moved the bed so they could see it, but it was never cleaned. We stayed 5 days with a mountain of dust under us.

Very basic clean rooms.

We were booked for 4 nights - left after the first!!! Don't think there was any sound proofing as it was a very noisy area which appeared to be across the road from a brothel. Loud music blaring at night, people fighting on street, quite a seedy part of town.
