For what we paid we were expecting so much less. Great place, surely going back if passing by the city. Only problem, no hair dryer. I didn't ask at the reception desk cause i was already under the shower when i noticed, they might offer some though, upon request, I don't know. Again though, everything perfect and SO valuable for the price.... which is why i won't fill in the didn't like box ;p A/C, nice TV, nice people :) A bit difficult to find the entrance to the building, but we survived ;).
all reviews » Excellent location in the city center in safe and relatively quiet street, very close to metro station. Rooms are spacious, well furnished, very clean, have all necessary facilities such as lockers, table, chairs, pegs. Staff is really helpful: they can advise you good and cheap restaurants nearby and make a reservation for you. Continental breakfast for guests is served each morning. The hostel placed very close the Gran Via and also the Gran Via metro station. So you are close to the city center and the night life. Staff was very friendly to help us and answered our questions about Madrid and where to go very friendly. The room was basic but enough for a weekend trip and clean. Free wi-fi worked flawlessly. Excellent location!! Could walk to everything!! Staff were friendly, gave us tourist pamphlets, and marked on a map where all the good places to see were and where good food and tapas was. Let us keep bags there all day after check out. Good basic breakfast. Very near Puerta del Sol, easy to get to anywhere, lots of restaurants and shops, a little hard to find because it's on first floor of a building on small road and the sign quite small but if you're good with map, no problem. A very clean and neat hostel with friendly staff. Although located 50 metres from the Gran Via, it wasn't noisy. Togetjer with the quiet airco, we had good nights sleep. Two metro-lines were very nearby. Central location, nice and clean room with good facilities. The staff are also quite nice and helpful. For the price, one can hardly ask for more!. It's a bit cold in the hostel during daytime, but it seems to be a common problem for most hotels in Spain in winter. But at night it was quite warm. Common area is very small, but honestly it's not a big problem. Breakfast could have been richer, but for this price it is ok. It is a small hostel with only 3x3 common area. Too small to hang out. The entrance is a bit hidden. You must look carefully to find it the first time. The street was noisy with people talking late at night, but the staff told us that they would change the windows in spring, so it'll probably get better soon. Room is not spacious enough and breakfast was sub standard. The noise coming from the street. The breakfast was not my kind of taste. I would prefer something healthier then croissant and jam. The breakfast is simple. Noisy late nite street action. Bring your ear plugs. small kitchen, few facilities not enough for breakfast time when all guests prepare for leaving in the morning. No fruit or olive oil in the included breakfast. Some noise from the street. No signs in the Street. Hard to find the hostel. Hostel is difficult to be found. Also room was quite dirty. Very expensive for a hostel room. The heating was always off and we didn´t had warm water at night.
