We all loved the short walk to Aker Trygge and then to downtown, but then having the option to take a troll - Fantastic place to stay- Located very close to the port and the island of Bygdoy where all the museaums are is about a 3 mile walk/trek along the yacht filled quayside which is great day out-(if this is too long take the boat from pier 3)Hotel Looks somewhat unremarkable outside apart from the light fittings but design is a key element internally. We loved the area around Frogner House Apt. Classic historical low buildings, lots of small shops and the tram to downtown. Great location, very close to the city center which you can walk to within 5-10 minutes. I have lived in Oslo 7 years ago and this is my second visit with my family. Because I knew the expensive prices of Norway, I was very satisfied with the price. Also the kitchen and everything was clean and well equiped so I could eat anything from the kitchen... what people say » ! That saved me tons of money which I would have spent for restaraunt food. I read the other comments and was scared of the street noise (or pub noise - Good communication and the check-in procedure was quite convenient. Was sent an e-mail that the apartment is ready, went to the office and got the keys and a map handed to me. This is not a luxurious apartment, but the furniture was quite new when I stayed there. The kitchen is well equipped with tools (pans, knives, a microwave etc.).
