  The facilities were excellent, the setting quite pretty for a hotel just off the motorway (horses in a paddock close to the entrance, trees and small waterways behind the hotel), and the staff were all very kind.   Lovely room, comfortable beds, nespresso machine was a nice touch. Breakfast was very good with a choice of cooked dishes and a cold buffet. The spa had just opened but we had forgotten our swim suits. Location was very good. Easy stroll to shops and restaurants and the station was a 15 min stroll along the canal, or you can catch the bus from ro... what people say » und the corner. Gaston and the other staff were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble. We used their parking at a cost of 12 euros per night. - The location, facilities and above all the staff who were very friendly and helpful. This was especially true when I caught "Dutch Flu" and they let us stay in the room for an extra 2 hrs until it was time to go to the Airport - Gaston's suggestion. Also Gaston's mum who runs a shuttle service to the Airport deserves a positive mention. Thanks again.

  The comfort and silence after all the traveling. - The staff at Van der Valk Hotel Leiden was wonderful and very helpful.The hotel was very nice and very clean. The bar and restaurant (twoseparate facilities) were very nice as well and a nice addition. Thelocation on the canal was beautiful!

  It was very clean and comfortable with reliable service. Being so close to the central train station is a big plus. They also were very accomodating regarding storing luggage pre and post check-in time (to correspond to flight times). - The quiet location and the efficient heating.

  The staff were friendly and helpful in all sorts of small ways. I felt I was a welcome guest. Furthermore, I was especially impressed with the facilities and really enjoyed a swim in the pool early in the morning while overlooking the city.
