Hotels near Rotterdam Airport

Stayed here on business. The pluses- a stone's throw from the Rotterdam airport with quick van pick up from the hotel. There is a bus stop 100 ft from the hotel which takes you into the city for just over 2 euros. The staff were very efficient and helpful (reallly exceptional IMO) for what is a functional airport hotel. The food is good though you cant get a meal after 11pm (ie no room service after that hr). The minuses- the room is functional with rather basis decor. The decor is a bit dated b - R

We arrived in Sharm about 8 o'clock and were surprised to see the sun setting so early which made Domina Time (an hour in front of Egypt Time) wonderful. You need to be careful when booking excursions as these are not always on hotel time!! When we arrived at the hotel there were porters there to take us on a golf cart to our rooms. We stayed at the Westin earlier this year. I cannot rate it highly enough. Our room was of a very high standard, even down to the linen on the bed. The breakfast was of a very high standard, with chairs that were so comfortable, not like your usual chairs. Breakfast was served until quite late on the sunday morning, which meant that we did not have to get up early after a great saturday night out!! After reading the reviews I was not sure if I should stay at the Hilton Rotterdam but I have to say that I enjoyed my stay. As a Hilton HHonors Diamond guest I was upgrated to the executive level (Floors 2,3 and 4) and found a nice room with updated furniture and bedding. I understand that floors 5-10 are not refurbished and that the furniture is somewhat dated. I was particulary impressed with the front desk staff/service and well as with the lobby bar. I was paying my own bills on this trip, so went for somewhere cheaper than usual. The Milano is in a very "ethnic" area of a diverse City. I had no particular problem with this, working in London. The major drawback is that it is next to a major junction on a busy road and despite the price of petrol, a lot of Dutch motorists like to burn plenty when they pull away. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in so far..Excellent ambience, world class service, yummy breakfast, great rooms and decor..almost every thing about this hotel was world class. It has some great conference rooms for business meetings, nice and friendly staff and lots of ameneties complete with a gym and all. Though the price is in the higher band range, but its definitely worth the money!!! - Adrienne

We just returned from Holland last night . Our trip included 3 nights at the Van Walsum. As far as hotels go, that was the high point of our trip. Hotel Van Walsum is a family owned hotel and they take good care of you. They speak many languages with ease. When we needed a taxi we had a taxi called for us in minutes. This hotel was the least expensive one advertised for the conference i attended at De Doelen. I was very impressed with the proximity to the conference center as well as various restaurants and attractions. The tram was three blocks away. The river was a 10 minute walk. The room was better than i expected. The street was very quiet. I feel sorry for those who paid twice as much on the main drag. It only cost me 10 Euros per night to park my car.
