The rooms are renovated and I had double room even had a reservation for single. Hotel staff is great- I could check out at noon instead of 11. You can't find better 3 stars hotel for such money and location in Amsterdam

The historic associations of the Hotel and location. The room was a four star one and was excellent. We liked looking around the hotel and finding out more of its history. Some reviewers inaccurately reported the hotel as being a prison previously. Perhaps some of the lower starred rooms may have appeared cell like but ours certainly wasn't. - Styl
