  the English-speaking concierge was on hand to assist with my check-in and was there to help regarding some confusion about my transfer to the airport.   The location was excellent as we're the staff who were very helpful when I mistakenly threw some travel documentation into the hotel rubbish. They were genuinely happy when it was found. Rooms have either mountain or sea view to choose from.The toilets are well stock with reasonably good quality toiletries.It is connected to a big mall that has good shopping and dining choices,and a movie theatre.   We had a canal view room (the otaru canal is just across the road). I like the room very much, it's clean and spacious, toilet and bath room are separated.   There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which have bus going to the hakodate ropeway at a sceduled timing. The front desk staff - a lady was very helpful and flexible. My friend and I were early (by abt an hr) and she gave us a room even though check in is 3pm onwards. Just walk about 2 minutes from JR Station to get there and from there it takes just a minute to the Morning Market. The room is quite old but very neat and tidy. They have a big flat screen TV, green tea, hair dryer, Yukata and Obi set for changing clothes. The staff is very nice although we get here a bit late (8pm).
