Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, bathroom was spacious, and the water pressure in the shower was great. The staff was perhaps the best part of the whole experience. We were able to lock our bags up before checking in so we didn't have to drag them around the city. Also, the staff helped us with directions, provided free maps, and recommended places to eat. Loved the room. (Room 202). When you went in the room door there was a living room area with 2 arm chairs, coffee table, fire place, TV, and an eating table with 2 chairs. Excellent value. I was worried about all the reports on noise, but it didn't bother me at all. It is fairly clear that it is going to be noisy anyway. Anyone complaining about this has been warned by other reviews and by the hotel's own website. It is ideal for anyone on a budget. Drinks were 2.50 at the bar and a large selection of meals from 6euro. If you prefer to be part of the party this place is great for you.

friends young kid loved watching it all unfold....so did the adults. You
want for little staying with Dublin Barge Hire and its right downtown
walking distance to Trinity College, all the museums, and the new
Rugby/ Soccer stadium. Not to mention just a block from the train
station to go out to Howth! Cannot recommend enough, wonderful and fun

I loved pretty much everything about Gogartys. The welcome package, the people I met, the location. The kitchen served as a awesome place to chill with other hostel travellers. The Hostel was situated exactly in the happening area. If you have never been to Dublin before like myself. This is one stop place to me. It is in the center of connecting everywhere else. I stayed for 3nights and I enjoyed my stay there. The staff were very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone who has a really tight budget and needs a good space for lay over
