The room is small but clean and tidy. Suitable for backpackers or budget traveller who travel along the day and get a room just for sleep. The facilities is good, there is hot water, microwave, safety box. The most important is the toilet is superbly clean. i got double room (1705) at 17th floor at block D, its more quite and peaceful than other blocks.the location is very strategic, near to MTR, shopping parade and lots of attractive vanue. Lot of halal food (indian/pakistan) around here. i lu.

Everything was great! The location is perfect, near the subway station Tsim Sha Tsui. We lived in Harilela Mansion 81 Nathan Road across from the Chung King Mansion. No problems with elevators (not crowded). The staff is very friendly. The room is small, but cozy and very clean, fully fits the description. Daily cleaning. Free coffee and water in the lobby, free WiFi. As the name implies, I thought it's operated by Australian & expect to see many Aussie around, but that wasn't the case. Guests were very mixed, room too tiny (45-50sf) smaller than my toilet. A very dangerous place to stay in the event of a fire. Frankly... Not worth the risk. It should be named hk house ..or Slum and has nothing to do with any other country. the best thing is it is so near to downtown that it is easy to go anywhere. Close to public transport. since this building is too old, the surrounding is lil bit scary, but once u get into room, all that will fly away. a lot of indian, pakistani and african around here. the elevator is small, can fit for max 7 person at time. but for the ral backpackers, it should not be a big deal. :). 1) The touts at the entrance of the building - to the way to the lift - trying to sell you sim card/ rooms etc 2) Waiting queue at the lift. Waiting for the lift..long queue.. A little small but deserve the price. Don't be put off by the crowded entrance to the Chunking Mansion complex. Away from the crowds downstairs, the room was quiet and peaceful. I really can't find anything to fault the Australia Guest House on. Had a very enjoyable stay!. As I expected from other reviews, the room was tiny and there were lots of people downstairs trying to sell you stuff.. but being prepared and used to travelling in Asia I didn't find it too bad, even travelling with our baby in the carrier. Very compact room. Old building and quite smelly @ staircase if you need to use. Overall still satisfactory. Very difficult to find this place. Had to ask several people how to get there. No follow up to my questions on-line e-mail about promised "airport shuttle". There was never a "shuttle"!. Elevator was the slowest that i ever use. it's a long queue to get the lift to F16. Touts at the entrance to Chunking Mansions, can be overwhelming at night. Can be difficult to find correct block. This is budget accommodation and for the price you can not expect too much. Waiting for lifts in busy times is an issue, also the room had no window, but air conditioning was excellent. nothing. small room. the guest house located in 16th floor and the lift so small, so you must be patient to waiting the lift up and down. waiting for lift. Room is small like in every place in TST. A lot of imigrants live and work in the building. What I really didn't like it's that some rooms are on the floor without elevator so you need to take staircase which looks terrible and smell the same. Some of the staff wasn't so talkative and nice but the rest was ok. The reception is located in the 16th of Chunking Mansions, which is a creepy place and you have to wait hours to take the elevator. technically we didn't stay at the Australian guesthouse. the ruins were all sold out so we were moved to another called (I think) " Legendary" guesthouse. the Erin was great so I'm not complaining, but we still lived our luggage up to the 16th floor to get to the reception, only to have to go back down again, over the street, then up to the 12th floor of another building. the elevators everywhere are tiny and extremely busy. Only one lift with sometimes long waits, air-con is not adjustable, so in the tiny room your either sweating or shivering depending on whether u turn it on or off. Location was horrible! Took almost 5 mins for every life ride! Everything will be prefect if not for the 2 points mentioned above. Hot water did not work; no soundproofing of the room, so you hear people talking and going around at all hours; had left over fruit seeds on the table and glasses in my room when I moved in. The pillows were a bit hard. Its on top of a market/crowded shopping complex..and its very busy when you come down... We stayed in a small room at 17th floor with a small and slow (wait for 15 min) lift (5 to 6 person maxium) If fire happed do not know what to do. Small room and bed for man. Complicated and a bit dangerous location for girls to stay. Room far too small. Toilet seat not attached to bowl. No outside window. Bathroom only 1 meter square, very hard to get in & out. Elevator over-crowded & .Slow Security-box not working. The location of the hotel means you have to walk through the Chung King Masion which can feel very intimidating at night especially as two females. The room was cramped and the staff were ok but did not feel very relaxed. The family room is very small. The elevator is slow and it takes time to go up and down. The room is in a large old building. On the ground floor is a very busy market. You have to take the elevator to the 16th floor Reception. I had security concerns. I would only recommend to people who are not worried about personal security. Room too small for 2 adults & luggage. Bathroom extremely small. No window to outside. Room was not what was shown in pictures when booking. Not a good experience !!!!!!!!!. only one lift, long wait times for lift.. Poor service. Cannot find a single soul after getting the room. Reception number cannot call through or no one pick up. MUST MUST MUST check all facilities in the room before letting the bell boy off. the room very small. Sorry... What I like didn't sound good as stated above. So I better don't go too far. Perhaps this is not your fault, but the competitive nature of hk society that many ordinary people live like that. So...So...So~~ small... and elevator also so small that I couldn't use it and it took so much time... Room too small. very poor organise and rooms are too small for a family of four.
