I booked in New London Hotel, and was given a room in Marrigold. It was wonderful. The room was small, but clean. I had a bathroom outside the room, but it was kept very clean. The bed was comfortable with clean linen with a lovely duvet. Potable water is available, and Wi-Fi was free and good. The location is excellent, as it is opposite the entrance of Tsim Tsa Sui mrt. I was not harrassed by anyone around the building. Although all reviews said it was difficult to find reception, I found it .
all reviews » We arrived late, so we were re directed to another guest house they owned (Mari gold, maybe). We were surprised by how clean and tidy it was. Everything in the guest house was almost shinning. We profited from the fridge, the fan, the AC, the microwave and the water dispenser. The location was great regarding reaching turistists' sites. We got to know Raj and Alejandro that were really kind. Hope you continue improving your Spanish Alejandro!. Actually, I was transferred to the sister hostel, Marrigold. This one is more spacious than New London. Both hostels are clean and equipped with what a traveler basically needs- free wifi, shampoo, soap, w/c shower, w/c drinks outside the room, and a ref inside the room. Adaptor is also provided. I intend to stay in either the two hotels whenever I am in HK. The staff Raf and Ms Sabu was very friendly with us. Room was very clean, a bit too small but really value for money!:) strategic place, nearby MTR and avenue of stars, victoria peak harbour n etc etc. Although Chunking Mansion is a maze, just follow New London Hostel's directions to their reception and you'll be fine. The actual hostel floors are quiet and safe. It's just the lobby that's bustling. Location is excellent, clean inside, very friendly staff...Good place for good rpice...Just it would be nicer if towels would be changed more often. Excellent location in Kowloon, spotlessly clean, had microwave, drinking water, TV and WI-FI. They provide fridge so we can store beverage and baby formula, very accommodating staff. Chung king Mansion does not have the best fame but our guest house was great. None. Bathroom small.. didnt like that mansion in general, too messy,too many people, slow elevators. check in very slow. this hostel is on floor 17. i booked room but they don't have room. in building is many people, small lift. Extremely small room 1.5 meter wide, double bed 1.2 meter wide. Small bathroom with the shower over the toilet. Almost no place to put your things but under the bed. New London Hostel is on the 17th floor, but the elevator runs only till the 16th! Filthy stairs to reach the hotel. WiFi connection very weak and slow. Impossible to find it on yr own. Not only on a different floor but a different block altogether... Private bathroom is in the hallway so anybody can use it and they do (toilet seat up and down, drops on the seat,...) Air con... you have to choose between being hot or the room smelling of don't know what... but this is what you get for this price range. very small rooms and the elevator will stop on floor 16 and in night it is not the best place to walk around. No lift to floor. Felt springs in mattress. Tiny and run down. It's a scam. What you see on the pics online is not what you get on the ground. The owner runs dozens of guesthouses in the same area / building and will just assign any spare room to you. Security is also lacking. No privacy. You can hear every person returning to the guesthouse. The doors opening and closing will ring throughout the whole guesthouse. Running water, people talking, moving around the room, etc.
