The location is very handy. We've been to Berlin a number of times and with the standard of public transport, most central locations will be ideal for discovering the city - the same applies to the Generator. Loads of places you can walk to, U-Bahn just down the road and Freidrichstrasse station very nearby also. The hostel itself was clean and comfortable. The beds were warm and cozy, though we benefited from having spare beds in our room meaning extra pillows for us. The shower is excellent, .
all reviews » I stayed at the dorm room this time, and it was one of the cleanest dorm with most comfy bunk bed I've ever experienced. The 6 bed female dorm was cute and funtional; each bed has its own power socket, head lamp, huge drawer. The power shower was great too. The wifi was free with great signal up to my room. I'm not a dorm-room fan, but I definately recommend this dorm for anyone who does. The location is very close to most of attraction and metro. Supermarket, McD, KFC were a little bit far. This hostel is really great. It is fairly new so doesn't suffer from the old tired furniture and decor of other hostels. The facilities are excellent and even the presence of a bar within the hostel was no issue when trying to sleep. The soundproofing was great. I also really loved the funky modern decor. Wifi was accessible everywhere and was very decent, allowing me to have a video chat with no issue. Good coffee in the cafe too!. A nice, clean place, very close to the Museum Island. Friendly staff. We arrived in the morning, and left our luggage in the special room before checking-in (and also after checking-out), which gave us the opportunity to walk around the city even longer. 24 hours cafeteria where we could get some coffee, chocolate, etc. A nice breakfast for 5 euros, which we considered rather affordable. The location was amazing- you can easily by walk go to the Tv-tower, Brandenbruger Tor, ect. The S-bahn is very near the hostel. The staff is very kind and always ready to help you. If you like to party there is a good opportunity at the hostel and near in Berlin Mitte. I am sure this is the best hostel in Berlin. I request all to come and visit :). Location was fantastic. Plenty of bars and restaurants on the street and a ten minute walk to tv tower and Museum Island. Bar area in hostel very funky and great to lounge in. Rooms were very secure, beds comfortable, room was clean, bed linen provided, en suite and shower were excellent. Each bed has a light, a shelf and plug socket. Really great hostel! Fantastic location in the centre of Berlin, interesting design, very-very-very friendly staff :) You can feel there like at home. Rooms are a little small, but beds are so comfortable and have a light. On the street you can find a lot of restorants and bars and metro is very close (about two steps from hostel). The staff was very helpful. I asked for many little things and they were always able to do something to make it happen. We stayed in 2 different rooms and they were both very nice. Breakfast is ok There is also a bar and a 24h coffee shop. Public transportation is just outside the hostel. I'd definitely stay there again. The location is perfect - It has a U-Bahn right outside and tram line too, staff where extremely friendly and helpful - They where always smiling and laughing, there is a great laid back athmosphere in the communal areas and the whole hostel was kept lovely and warm as the winter is kicking in!. Greatest hostal ever! The building and rooms are brand new and very nice! Bed in confortable, and you have a locker under the bed to keep your stuff locked while you are put! The Generator had a welcoming atmosphere. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiete so I managed to get a decent amount of sleep. It's almost set up like a hotel rather than a hostel. The cafe and bar that were part of the generator were great. The building was beautifully designed, very clean and well laid-out. The staff were extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. Friendly, helpful, polite stuff! Wifi works all over the hostel. Bright and big rooms. They charged €6 for a towel, €1 of which you get back at the end. You can always just bring your own towel but if you're trying to travel light, it would be handy if the accommodation provided this. There are some other charges also for stuff like hairdryers but on a lads trip, these sort of things didn't really enter the equation. It lacks furniture. For example, a table was mentioned in the description of the room, which we did not find. No shelves... So keeping your clothes properly becomes a challenge. Also, no boiler or something that would give us opportunity to have some tea / coffee in the room. Right under our window, young people were yelling all nights. No real problem but did not help sleeping, even been tired as we were. It was extremely warm at the room, because of the sun, and it was difficult to ventialte the room. Breakfast was poor and not worth 5 euro. Was just cereal, bread and juice. Cereals were bland low quality version . Some fruit would have been good. Wifi was not working. Rooms are small and has just one locker under each bed for each person. But it s a hostel, you dont need a lot of space for your clothes :). One of the elevators broke on the 2nd day and we had to use another one, far from our room. Not a big deal. Only negative would be the doors in the rooms are very heavy so the banging during the day/night is a bit disturbing if you are trying to sleep and the matresses where very flat and lumpy but done the job!. The breakfast buffet is a bit incomplete for the price. Some things hadnt been finished however I would imagine this to be complete very soon. The system they use for back storage in the rooms wasn't the most effective use of storage. They were great big tubs that you could fit in all your belongings and you could also look it. However to open them you had to drag them out from under the bed. They were large so it was very awkward and they also made a lot of noise. They need to come up with something better. Some of my doorm mates were coming in at 5 in the morning waking everyone up. I know its a doorm and obviously people are gonna be lut partying but I managed to come in at 7 drunk as hell, have a shower and not wake anyone up. Also they were massive snorers. Breakfast could be better. No parking space from the hostel, but there is one private beside. The room smelled awful because of my room mates, but I was not able to open the windows, there were locked. And the breakfast was poor for 5 more euros the hostel charged for it. Inflexible check-in time (2 PM sharp) and they were even half an hour late!. A bit stuffy in the corridors, the alley of red lights is just at the corner. Nothing, not weak points at this hostel. Nothing really bad about this hostel. I have nothing to complain about!. Breakfast was adequate. The wireless didn't work on my phone, a first for me. Rooms get unbearably hot when the day is above 30 degrees. Can't open windows fully to cool the rooms, no fans or air cons, so quite uncomfortably hot to sleep in. No where to sit in the rooms. They could add some towels to the price. - bed is a little bit high! It's had for me to clime up. -it is a little laud outside. -there's not big Schare space we communicate with other tourists... The room lacked a couple of things which were mentioned in the booking confirmation, such as a table, full length mirror and clothes hanging unit. The lack of the latter made a 3 night stay somewhat awkward with clothes all over the room. It smells nasty inside the room and there is no hair dryer. They're still on construction. Started making noise from 7:30 in the morning. Other guests were quite noisy. Yelled in a hallway very late in the night. Laundry room wasn't there yet. need : hooks to hang coats ,handbags towels in rooms Some seats in rooms Handles to pull out lockers . Some tea/coffee facilities after hours,. Make sure you email the hostel directly if you need a wheelchair accessible room - letsbookhotel.com did not pass on this request even though I wrote it in the 'special requests' box. (Staff at hostel sorted this when we arrived but don't risk it!). Boxes under beds are pretty loud. You can hear when people on next floor move them. No place to hang your clothes. Rooms for 4 people are really like a hostel. Note very price for value. personal space inside the bedrooms was too small. Small place at the canteen, long queues.
