  This is a lovely hotel ideally situated on the outskirts of Honfleur overlooking the Seine estuary. I cannot praise it highly enough. Everything about it was perfect from the lovely room and breakfast to the superb restaurant.   Very friendly & helpful staff, buffet-style breakfasts included cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, cheeses, cold meats, yoghurts, bread, croissants, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange-juice. Location is good for exploring the D-Day Landing sites, 2 minutes from the American Cemetary. Adequate parking outside each "chalet room". Abour 1 hour drive fro... what people say » m Caen. The on-tap beer is good quality. 10 minutes drive to restaurants / snack bars. We didn't dine there at lunchtime but it was busy then. Showers - We originally booked the room with the sauna and didn't realise that it didn't have a fridge or jug etc, as we were staying five days it wasn't suitable so after one night we changed to a one bedroom apartment ith kitchen washing machine etc. This was fantastic and made our stay much more enjoyable. We had lunch here a couple of times and they ere great. The staff were helpful, weather fantastic so we made use of the lovely pool. Close to all the Normandy beaches and museums.

  The staff were always extremely friendly and very accommodating. Our dogs were also very welcomed. We asked to change rooms from one on the back-side of the hotel to a sea view on the front. The receptionist worked his magic (on a very busy weekend with a very full hotel) and made it happen!   It's a beautiful hotel with lovely loft rooms in a nice little town. I loved that each of the 3 rooms we had was slightly different. The lobby and breakfast areas are very charming and homey. All 5 of us simply loved the place. - I liked everything about Le Lion d'Or.

We also had a special request due to unforeseen circumstances to slightly extend the time to vacate one of the rooms which was dealt with in a thoroughly sympathetic and helpful manner, for which we are very grateful. - Great place for a family, room was spacious and clean.Would highly recommend.Staff was polite and helpful.
