  Got a taxi from Gare du Nord for just under Euro 20. Hotel has two steps up to reception and an elevator. We chose this hotel as it was close to Montpanasse RER which we needed the following morning. Other hotels are closer but this hotel was better value for money. We had tea and coffee facilitie - Loved the location. It's in an area where there are a lot going on but there aren't many tourists and we felt totally safe. Unlike certain neighborhoods in district 2, 9, and 11 where we don't feel safe. The neighborhood is very diverse and has a very "authentic" vibe because there aren't too many tourists that venture out there.   We stayed here 4 nights in May 2013, for our 10 years marriage anniversary. The hotel is 20-30 min walk to the Eiffel Tower. The staff is very friendly although we didn't communicate a lot as we were in the hotel only for sleeping, because every day we were leaving the hotel at 8:00 and coming back after all day sightseeing Paris after 23:00.
