Some of small cheap hotels in Paris have a kind of charm and other don't. Les Gobelins does.
The room was small but clean, the bathroom was big enough, I had no problems with (hot) water / electricity, wifi, etc. There is also a sympathetic small patio, but I haven't used it as I was there in winter.
Location is perfect, in a narrow quiet street with Boulevard des Gobelins with its metro station of Line 7 just around the corner.

Our room was clean fresh recently renovated by the look of it, staff couldn't have been more helpful,Benjamin did everything he could to help us even carried my bags for me up the stairs as there is no lift .....we were on first floor but if have some luggage it can be a difficult chore, Benjamin to rescue !! Location is excellent, bakery on the corner makes the best cafe creme and pastries. Top Tip brush up on your French it really will help out in the local shops etc. even if its just bonjour

Location is great. You have two metro stations very close. One that can get you to some of Paris attractions directly, and another one that gets you to gare du nord directly. Pretty handy. I loved the location, Rue Daguerre is a bustling street with plenty of bars, cafes, nightclubs and restaurants as well as a lovely market. You are within 40 mins walk of the Eiffel and Notre Damme, or alternatively there are very close metro stations at each end of the street.
