  Extrem freundliches und hilfreiches Personal. Das Hotel ist eigentlich eine Mehrzimmerwohnung im 3. Stockwerk und hat eine nette familiäre Atmosphäre. Die Betten sind zwar nur 1,90 m lang, aber die Matratzen sind okay. Und die zentrale Lage (direkt bei U-Bahn-Station Opera) ist einfach super! - Wonderful view. Great location. Very different to commercial establishments in as much as it is a converted apartment and was very interesting for us, a mature couple. We were placed in a huge room at no extra cost. Very clean. Quite an experience for us even !though we know Madrid well. - The biggest bonus of this little family-run place is its unrivalled location facing the Royal palace. Staff are very responsive and punctual and the place has the charm of a 18th century building.

  Location was excellent, a very very short walk from the Puerta del Sol. Very very very good value for the price. Place was clean, and everything worked fine. Staff was very hospitable.   Hostal Mendoza is located in perfect place: next to the central street of Madrid - Gran Via and Puerta del Sol, where you can take the tourist- bus and travel all over the city. Our double-room on the second flour was always clean, the furniture and bathroom (with all the accessories) were new, we had even flat TV-set and the balcony. Room was large with fairly new ensuite and very comfy beds. There was nothing we didn't like and would definitely stay again.
