Great location for the city. Bedroom a little on small size, bathroom excellent and good balcony with city and a sea view! Extremely well cleaned every day. Slighty noisey with the plumbing from room next door. Breakfast busy and shortage of tables. On the whole great location and value for money. - Helen

We stayed at the MS Maestranza for 3 nights, and were very impressed with every aspect of the hotel. This was my first trip to the Costa del Sol, and I had some preconceptions about Malaga all of which proved unfounded. It is a most beautiful place to stay, with a lovely Old Town which is well worth taking plenty of time to explore, and everywhere is remarkably clean too. This hotel is in such a lovely part of malaga - ideal location for restaurants and nightlife. So many little side streets to explore and enjoy coffee, wine, ice-cream, tapas...! HOTEL: We were put into a dreadful room to start with - stank of smoke despite the grumpy receptionist insisting it was non-smoking- however they moved us the next day into a very well appointed room - very clean and excellent air-con. We stayed here for 3 nights in a 4th floor suite in the old building. Great views of the cathedral 50 yards up the road so the hotel was very central to all the sights of Malaga which is a brilliant city to visit for a short break. Our suite was very contempary. White walls...white leather couches...white drapes...Large glass walled bathroom made the corner space feel a lot bigger than it really was. Very friendly reception staff at all times. Breakfast superb, one of the best we have ever had and we travel a lot. Very clean, modern rooms. Right beside rail station and 6 Euro/10 minute ride to old town. Can't believe the negative comment also from Lancashire. There are some quite good restaurants in adjacent mall, esp the pizza one. We stayed at the Tryp (pronounce it "treep" to taxis so they know what you're talking about), due to missing a flight and used the airport internet to find a last minute hotel. We're a family of 7 (2 adults, 5 kids from 13yrs to 9 months) and we were extremely and pleasantly surprised by this hotel. This hotel is exactly what you'd expect of an Ibis - good value, clean & comfy, with no thrills. The location is very good - a 5 - 10 minute walk and you're right in the centre of Malaga. Breakfast at about 6 Euros per person is basic but good and there's enough food and choice to set you up for a day sight seeing. Malaga and the Costa Del Sol had much more to offer than I expected - so much so that I have booked to return to Benalmadena in 6 months time. - John

My husband and I spent one night in Malaga city before we continued our journey to Costa del Sol and on to Granada and Sevilla and wanted a small boutique-style hotel in Malaga's old town, close to shops and restaurants. Hotel Atarazanas was just what we were looking for. The rooms are not huge, but modern, charming and very clean. We just came back from a 4 night stay at the hotel and overall, the hotel made for a pleasant stay. The location and price of the hotel were very good. As well as the service both in the bar and at reception were excellent. The first night we were given a room which was exceptionally small and the shower did not work properly. We were moved the next day to a slightly larger room with a working shower head and a flat screen TV. The only problem was that the AC did not work and the pillows were - Metjon

This hotel is one road away from the beach, their is a bus stop outside that will take you to the centre of town, although the walk is only 10/15 mins and very pleaseant. Our room was really nicely decorated with a lovely view of terrace gardens. Its also got an attractive front patio and sun terrace to relax on. My only complaint was that they lost my car parking reservation offered free breakfast as a compensation so I can't hold that against them. The staff were really helpful pointing out - Clive

Had a great time, our room had air con, there is no food and no pool but for £40.00 per night does it matter. The room was very clean, towels changed daily, bathroom was spotless, if you are looking for value for money this is it. Get the bus from the airport its £2.50 for two as opposed a taxi which is £25.00, ask the driver to stop at the Picasso museum and you are virtually at the hotel, Value for money 100% - Peter
