  We were only there for one night and did not eat in the evening as we were in the castle at a wedding. Room was fine and the bed was really cosy! The breakfast was good and well presented.   We stayed at The Farmhouse for 2 nights and can't rate it highly enough! The owners Jon and Marilyn are both friendly and welcoming (as are the dogs!) and they went above and beyond to ensure we wanted for nothing during our time with them. We had a king size room which had lots of space and a very comfortable bed. We had a very nice dinner in the bar with a large choice on the menu and breakfast the following morning in the restaurant and bistro - I have stayed here a number of times on business. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and are beautifully decorated. The bathroom suites are 'old fashioned' but all coordinate with each bedrooms colour scheme. I personally think it works really well. Having stayed in 5 different rooms so far, I was always intrigued to see the style of each room! The dinner menu is very affordable...try the Buccleuch burger...it is delicious. Final dinner orders are taken at 9pm but the kitchen is very flex

I have stayed in a lot of places which were far more expensive and not seen such high standards of service, cleanliness', cooking and lovely décor. All this in a glorious setting.
