  The location is beautiful and peaceful and the staff were friendly and charming. We stayed in the Premier Suite (Room 14) with stunning views overlooking the small lake to the front from the bedroom and the paddock/fields with horses and sheep to the side from the sitting room. The welcome basket is a fantastic idea and we were most glad and grate... vad folk säger » ful for this, it made for a special start to the stay. Excellent thought given to the little extras from the toiletries to the hair dryer and hot wate - The eye for detail, from knowing my name the moment I entered the hotel, showing me my room, explaining the various routines and opportunities. I really liked the flexibility, when I said I would like to have dinner, immediately I was offered a table outside in the beautiful weather, overlooking a lake and farmland. The staff were terrific, nothing was too much trouble.

  The staff were wonderful a problem with the room was resolved straight away with the offer of an alternative the food and service in the dining room were exeptional and the rooms were well equipped and cosy - Quaint old building, good breakfast, froendly staff.

  This is a very olde worlde Tudor timbered building with loads of character in a beautiful country setting. The very old door into our bedroom was about 5ft high, I am 6ft 3in but this only added to the interest and the on suite room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable with nice views from the windows. The staff were all friendly and helpful. - Beautiful 15th century building. Small and cosy. You walk into cosy lounge with roaring fire, lovely! Staff so helpful,polite and friendly. Lovely afternoon tea/sandwiches/soups. lovely meals/breakfast. If you like small and cosy, this is the place. Beautiful grounds/views and 5mins from Newtown by car. Really lovely place to relax and would return. I was in main building, there are seperate quarters in the grounds.

  Everything! The room was cosy but perfectly adequate with clean bedding, all mod cons and a pretty view across the fields. Bernie and John were wonderful friendly hosts who not only plied us with delicious home cooked breakfasts every morning but also gave us great local info as to where to go and what to see (OS maps were v useful thank you!) We ... vad folk säger » would definately recommend to anyone wanting to stay in a relaxed, informal rural setting but still within a 10 minute walk of the centre of Llanwrtyd - We stayed at Cerdyn Villa for three nights and we really enjoyed our stay there thanks to Bernice and John.They're wonderfull,friendly and welcoming people who make their guests feel like at home and almost as a part of their family.John helped us a lot by giving as tips where to go and what places to visit.Not forgetting his lovely,tasty breakfasts with daily,freshly baked bread and fresh eggs from their own chicken:-) Bernice-we loved your pink car! The room was gorgeous- we really loved it. It was an attic room - but large and beautifully done, with a lovely en-suite. The Kilverts is a pub with a really nice atmosphere and great food.   The owners were fabulous. Even though we arrived very late they still gave us the full gourmet restaurant service and their friendliness and interest made us feel that we were staying with old friends. - quiet, very nice view, lovely people, very good restaurant

  Lovely warm, time warped friendly atmosphere, perfect for mid Wales. I stayed in an ETAP the night before and it was much more expensive and of much less quality. - the location only 200 yards from the bowls where i was playing at 9.30 so no rush to get up and eat a breakfast served from 8am til 9am

  A friendly welcome from Mark, not too much fuss. The whole house was beautifully presented and immaculate- I think it is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! The bed and bedroom were very comfortable and the breakfast excellent, I could eat nothing else all day till the evening. - The proprietor, Mark, was extremely friendly and helpful, n... vad folk säger » othing was too much trouble.   Everything! The rooms were full of character and contained everything you'd need. The staff were very helpful and the food was great! The price was nothing to complain about either! - Overall it was one of the best three star hotels I have stayed in. By far better than many four star rated hotels

  My wife and I were only staying at Portland House for one night, to break up our journey down to South Wales, so I was particularly impressed by the way that we were so warmly welcomed by owner Ruth. She was very friendly and helped us to relax as soon as we arrived. She and her husband Ross were also full of useful information, about the town, i.... vad folk säger » e. suggesting places for our evening meal and the types of cuisine, pricing and distances etc. They were also able to give us plenty of information ab - Stayed in Room 1 - fabulous huge room with en-suite bathroom, wardrobe, period fireplace, 'home comforts' (TV, tea/coffee facilities) and best of all, extremely comfortable and cosy king-size bed. Room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Breakfast (full British) was delicious and arrived quickly when ordered. Ruth, the hard-working co-owner/receptionist/waitress/chef(!), was very friendly and helpful - it was nice to get a text from her a couple of days before my arrival asking what time
