  This is a little out of the way and not easy to get to with public transportation, but we were extremely happy we made the effort to stop here. We very much enjoyed our stay here. The house and rooms were clean, comfortable, and incredibly charming. The hosts were very nice and friendly, and breakfast was delicious and they are able to accommod... vad folk säger » ate vegetarians. This is part of a working stables and it was very nice to get a more genuine experience and it felt less touristy than a big city. - A great welcome, Friendly, Clean, Would have stayed longer but we was booked in across the road at the Craig y nos castle which i'm sorry the rooms are not worth the money at £150 per night but this B & B is 100% Worth the money for £65 per night so me and my husband recommend this totally.

  The setting is idyllic, with wonderful views across the lake. A great venue for lovers of nature & wildlife, and particularly good for birdwatching. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and staff were pleasant and attentive. Food excellent, and a wide selection available within a choice of menus. We also liked the fact that restaurant and Bar food was available, both with a view on the lake - we only tested the Bar which was excellent. The room, with both shower and huge bath tub, extra large and firm bed - we had an excellent night sleep. Fantastic view on the lake.

  The hotel is set in a nice location convenient to Hay-on-Wye and the Black Mountains. The staff were excellent. They were friendly as well as efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them and made a nice stay even more special. The Dining Room experience was great. Shower in ensuite was powerful easy to adjust and water temperature perfect. Soft towelling robes supplied was a very nice touch .

  Very welcoming and informal. Food and Room were excellent. Will definitely stay again. - The room was well maintained. Nice, relaxed bar area. They served really tasty food.

  Very nice coaching inn with a long history and lots of character, a labyrinth of rooms and low beams. Conveniently located in the middle of Crickhowell (obvious once you spot it, but I managed to drive past it twice), with plenty of parking space through the old coach archway. The bed was very comfortable and I had an excellent supper in the bar -... vad folk säger » it looked to be full at first sight but in fact it extends through several rooms so you should be able to find a table in one of them. - The Bear is a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and the welcome was warm. For an old building, the decoration is spot on and the attention to detail is impressive. We ate in the bar both evenings and had wonderful food. It was busy, but had a nice atmosphere. The breakfasts were very good too. I'd highly recommend to anyone staying in this part of Wales.

  Ground floor twin room is ideal for people who can't do stairs. Convenient wet room shower en suite. Easy free parking and easy access to outside seating. Fantastic breakfast and very quiet but also very near the centre. Lots of eating places nearby.   The staff were wonderful a problem with the room was resolved straight away with the offer of an alternative the food and service in the dining room were exeptional and the rooms were well equipped and cosy - Quaint old building, good breakfast, froendly staff.

  This is a very olde worlde Tudor timbered building with loads of character in a beautiful country setting. The very old door into our bedroom was about 5ft high, I am 6ft 3in but this only added to the interest and the on suite room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable with nice views from the windows. Lovely afternoon tea/sandwiches/soups. lovely meals/breakfast. If you like small and cosy, this is the place. Beautiful grounds/views and 5mins from Newtown by car. Really lovely place to relax and would return. I was in main building, there are seperate quarters in the grounds.

The room was gorgeous- we really loved it. It was an attic room - but large and beautifully done, with a lovely en-suite. The Kilverts is a pub with a really nice atmosphere and great food.   A friendly welcome from Mark, not too much fuss. The whole house was beautifully presented and immaculate- I think it is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in!   Everything! The rooms were full of character and contained everything you'd need. The staff were very helpful and the food was great! The price was nothing to complain about either! - Overall it was one of the best three star hotels I have stayed in. By far better than many four star rated hotels
