  We booked a 4-poster with Jacuzzi for a last-minute weekend break. We were not disappointed. Trevor, the owner made us feel really welcome, showed us around the property and took us up to our top floor spacious en-suite room. The buffet style breakfast was extremely varied and plentiful and the breakfast room was a good size and very comfortable. Overall an excellent e - Midweek rates in November were very good. Conveniently located hotel near the centre with plenty of off-street parking, which a lot of places in Ambleside do not have. The bedroom was not large but adequate, the kingsize bed being comfortable. Large bathroom with spa bath. Cold buffet breakfast was extensive and very good. Pleasant helpful efficient staff.

  From the welcoming tea and cake to a heartfelt goodbye from Tim, one of the two owners - more like hosts than proprietors - everything was first rate. The superior room we booked overlooked gardens and a park which we could view from the large windows or from the deck attached to the room. Breakfast also excellent (you could order classic English, continental breakfast and even salmon), wi-fi, TV provided but not so interesting because nature outside is very beautiful.

  The location was ideal for us , we like to shop and enjoy the restaurants and bars in the town centre. The owners George and Lindsey were very friendly and made our stay all the more enjoyable, George was very clued up on the local area and was a very chatty host at breakfast.   Everything! The staff were wonderful and the food excellent. - Felt more like a 4* plus hotel, not a 3. Nice details like great towels and fresh milk available for in-room coffee. Quality decor in room, nice bathroom too. Very convenient to town without being in it.

  Before our arrival Ethna the owner contacted us by email, allowing us to check in earlier than the 3pm stated on their website. The location is fantastic, easily accessible by car, with a reserved parking space included in the price of the room. It is set away from the main roads that run through Ambleside, meaning you have little to no vehicles ... vad folk säger » passing during the day or night which is a bonus. The town centre is easily accessible from a few different paths and staircases that lead straight in - We hadn't stayed in a B and B before but this was one of the most wonderful experiences from start to end. Ethna welcomed us very warmly and made us feel at home throughout our whole stay. Ethna is very friendly, with a lovely sense of humour as well as being very knowledgeable and helpful about the breath-taking surrounding area.   This was our second visit to the Waterhead. An excellent hotel. Luxurious but comfortable. Super food and friendly staff. Fantastic views! - we enjoyed evreything about our stay, location was beautiful, hotel was lovely, and restaurant was excellent

  Nothing which I can point out to complaint abt this place. It is gorgeous hostel with the reasonable price in the best comfortable and perfect condition. It has the awesome location, a very very friendly staff. Out room is spacious and comfortable. Besides they also provide for guests a big and clean kitchen as well as many stuffs to cook by ourselves. It is thumb - Extemely welcoming staff. When i got delaid on the train and emailed the hostel to check they would still have someone on reception they responded straight away. Breakfast was well worth the price, it was a little noisy with kids but nothing i wouldnt have expected. My single room on the third floor was surprisingly roomy with several bathroom in the vercinity. All in all, great staff, brilliant value for money super setting (right on the lake) will deffinitely be back!

  We liked everything! The suites are perfect, with lovely appointments. The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly. It's very very clean. It's close to everything at Waterhead and only a mile from Ambleside, with good bus service to everywhere in the Lake District. The shower was neat because you could program it to the exact temperature and pressure you wanted it. The provided coffee, milk, biscuits, and hot chocolate were _sublime_.   Location was amazing, not much more than a football pitch away from the shore of Windermere, accessible through a stile. Lodge was very clean and modern, great views. One staff member couldn't have been more helpful when I asked him for plates and cutlery, as we were getting a take-out! Great value at £70 per night.   The location was ideal even walking up the rather steep hill became bearable after a couple of times. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were excellent and the owners went out of their way to welcome you and had a pleasant manner. We respected the other guests in the hotel and likewise.   The hosts Sue and Ray were very friendly, casual and flexible. When I needed to get up earlier than their hours for breakfast they still made me breakfast, and it was very delicious. I stayed in one of their single occupancy rooms with a comfy bed, sharing the large bathroom (which was no problem at all) and was a great bargain. The facilities were excellent and I will definetely be returning to ambleside and, 3 cambridge villas is top of my bed and breakfast list. Also due to the bus stops being directly behind the b and b, you dont have to worry about driving. You can virtually jump on the bus and travel anywhere in the lake district
