Midweek rates in November were very good. Conveniently located hotel near the centre with plenty of off-street parking, which a lot of places in Ambleside do not have. The bedroom was not large but adequate, the kingsize bed being comfortable. Large bathroom with spa bath. Cold buffet breakfast was extensive and very good. Pleasant helpful efficient staff.

We stayed in room 8 and it was just as amazing as the pictures we saw on here. Huge walk in shower and free standing bath tub. Very comfortable bed and astonishing view from the private balcony. Tim and his staff were very welcoming and attentive. Jake the dog was adorable. The cottage itself is very homely and we felt very comfortable during our 3 day stay. Everything was excellent. I was there with my girlfriend and happy to stay there again. Special thanks to manager of the hotel. He was absolutely friendly and cares about us (he recommended to take hotel umbrella because rain could be later and he organized wonderful mini bus tour for us to the lakes). Breakfast also excellent (you could order classic English, continental breakfast and even salmon), wi-fi, TV provided but not so interesting because nature outside is very beautiful.

The staff and owners were friendly and helpful; they knew the area well and gave good information re days out/eating out/entertainment etc.
The breakfast was very good and the standard was consistent all through our 10 night stay. The bed was very comfortable and the ensuite was of a good standard.

We hadn't stayed in a B and B before but this was one of the most wonderful experiences from start to end. Ethna welcomed us very warmly and made us feel at home throughout our whole stay. Ethna is very friendly, with a lovely sense of humour as well as being very knowledgeable and helpful about the breath-taking surrounding area.

Extemely welcoming staff. When i got delaid on the train and emailed the hostel to check they would still have someone on reception they responded straight away. Breakfast was well worth the price, it was a little noisy with kids but nothing i wouldnt have expected. My single room on the third floor was surprisingly roomy with several bathroom in the vercinity. All in all, great staff, brilliant value for money super setting (right on the lake) will deffinitely be back!

Location was amazing, not much more than a football pitch away from the shore of Windermere, accessible through a stile. Lodge was very clean and modern, great views. The setting of Brathay Hall is stunning with great views of the lake, and the hall it self commanding. We had a twin attic room which was ideal for what we wanted after being in the hills all day, good shower comfy bed tea/coffee making facility, small bar but no food available, good breakfast next day, all in all well worth the payment and would use this place again.

Fiona the host was very friendly and had a good knowledge of the area offering advice and tips of where to eat and giving directions to local places.
We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable, the en-suite was small but cleaned every day and breakfast was excellent with a selection of fruits, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juices and a full cooked English made to order.

will definetely be returning to ambleside and, 3 cambridge villas is top
of my bed and breakfast list. Also due to the bus stops being directly
behind the b and b, you dont have to worry about driving. You can
virtually jump on the bus and travel anywhere in the lake district
