  Just got back and everything about this place is as good as earlier reviews say it is. I was tempted not to add comments so I could keep this gem to myself. We were staying B/B so cannot comment on the evening meal but the breakfast was excellent, with choice galore & as much (or little) as you wish from fresh fruit, cooked and continental br... vad folk säger » eakfasts, omelettes etc. The hotel staff & their service is great throughout from the front desk, bar-staff to the nice ladies who clean the rooms - The staff are excellent: professional and competent whilst also friendly and good humoured. The Hotel Illa d'Or has a magnificent setting, with wonderful views both of sea and mountains; and located in a quiet spot towards the end of the Pine Walk, which makes a lovely short promenade to the centre.   The staff were excellent, on every level. Very child friendly with kids club, indoor pool was a life send in the bad weather. Apartment was a great size for our family of 5. I can't say enough about the staff, they were so efficient. The entertainment at night for kids and adults was great. We're going back again!   Hotel is about 8 or 9 years old but looks brand new. Great pools (one for young children, one for adults). Great location in Puerto de Soller (but if your main interest is to go to beaches, I would recommend other locations like Cala D'or or Alcudia). Great to visit Soller, Deia, Valdemossa, Lluc Monastery. Drive to Palma is about 25kms, and req... vad folk säger » uires paying 5 euros each way if taking the Soller tunnel. We got a superior room, it was quite specious with big balcony and side ocean view. Relaxi - Lovely clean hotel with helpfull staff, breakfast was great especially squeezing your own orange juice. Had a room facing the mountains, although not sea view the mountain view was great, really refreshing. The balcony was large so drinks in the evening was relaxing. Staff were great and very accommadating booking restaurants etc specially for the surrounding areas. One street away from the beach and in a fairly quiet location.

Reception and the public areas retain the traditional, luxurious appearance that first impressed my wife and myself when we made our first (of four) visits to the hotel.   Excellent location. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beach. We stayed half-board and the breakfast and evening buffet was very good with lots of choice and good quality.
