The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The room was well kept and perfect for me (traveling alone). The hostal is very quaint, very Spanish and centrally located. It is within 20 metres of a subway station and taxi stop. Near all the main shops and tourist attractions. - location location location

Location was great - in the historic city centre, you can enjoy a walk to many places of interest. Opera metro station is just 1 minute from hostel. 24 hours supermarket is almost next door. My window was on pedestrian street Arenal, where people are walking all night long, but it wasn't noisy, I easily fell asleep (with closed window). Very safe district of Madrid. ... vad folk säger » ve of that there was cleaning service everyday. Hostal Luz is situated in the center of Madrid, 5 minute walk to the shopping avenue and Plaza Mayor. I think it is best, especially for couples. - Honestly, as far as hostals go, this is the creme de la creme. What afantastic stay. Although we had problems with the wireless internet,the room itself was fantastic. The staff was very considerate andhelpful as well.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had been newly renovated and was kept extremely clean. There were two sets of double paned windows to keep out the street noise. The Museo del Jamon was right next to the hotel and is a great place to get breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee or beer/wine. We would definitely return.
