  We liked everything about San Lorenzo. It is only a few km from a major highway that runs between Siena and exits to the great Tuscan wine hill towns as well as just over an hour to Assisi.   The location and the design of the hotel was fantastic. We liked how the hotel was almost brand new (having been recently restored), yet had been with the same family for a few generations.   Absolutely superb from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The setting is beautiful, very serene and with a wonderful relaxed ambience. Alberto was the most charming and welcoming host, and we noticed that every aspect of the hotel had been very carefully thought through to ensure no detail was overlooked. There were lovely little details li - Perfect place for relaxing near historical city of Montepulciano (1 km). Alberto, the host, was very helpful, great breakfast and beautiful garden circumstances. Great restaurant La Grotta was only 0,5 km from the hotel.

However, that said I really want others to enjoy the extraordinary welcome and care given to us by the lovely Viviana and Paulo throughout our stay at this extraordinary villa. Hosts Viviana and Paulo made us welcome from the moment we walked through the gate. Their place is welcoming and relaxed and nothing is too much trouble. Viviana even showed us how to catch the bus and where to visit in Florence. Her daily treats and well stocked complimentary fridge were well received. We ate at the local restaurant six nights - another of Viviana's suggestions - fantastic. The quality of this place was great.
