The hotel being on the edge of the forest was probably the in the most woderfull setting i have ever stayed at.   It was what you'd expect from a typical German Gasthof. Friendly staff, pleasant and very clean rooms, excellent continental breakfast. We dined in a few times and the quality of the meals was also excellent - typical hearty German meals. The hotel was located in the heart of the Altstadt, but only 10 minutes walk from the rail and bus stations.... vad folk säger » Wernigerode was an excellent base from which to explore the local region as well. We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely consider going bac - The hotel is superbly located just off the main square in this small town. Our room was excellent with very clean en-suite shower room and toilet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and helped to make our short stay an enjoyable one. Wernigerode is a picturesque,small town located in the Harz region. There is a beautiful castle overlooking the town which may be reached by tourist bus, train style bus and horse-drawn carriages. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops selling superb cakes
