Nice big room with kitchen. Reasonabe parking fee (3 Euros/night). Only around 50m from Metro station (Place Jean Jaures). 'Simply' supermarket (mini Auchan?) just across the street to fill up your kitchen..:-). So-so breakfast (6.5 Euro/person, but hey, you have kitchen in your room to fix your breakfast)... The room was very clean and well set out with a loft bedroom with two single beds. There was a double bed downstairs.
The buffet breakfast was very good with cereals, breads, croissants, yoghurt, bacon and eggs, juices and tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

The hotel was very close to the city center so it was easy to go everywhere from there and also it was 1 min walk from the train/metro station.

It fits the bill when considering its one of the more cost effective options in Lyon. We booked last minute despite some negative reviews and were generally satisfied with the accommodation. First, the location is great. Very easy to find. Second, the hotel is very clean. It's a comfortable environment to have a good rest. Third, staff in hotel are friendly. They gave us many useful information for wandering in Lyon. Fourth, the condition in the room is perfect. Anyway, we were satisfied.

I was about to change the hotel when i came from the airport by train via the huge Perrache railway station. i always avoid big stations where criminalities are daily routines. However, the helpful and friendly hotel staffs showed me the other direction where is 7 mins on foot to metro and the landmark "Bellecour". I am very impressed by the warm hospitality of the Lyonnais.

We chose Hotel du Siimplon as I read a review there was a laundromat around the corner which I knew we would need by then. The laundromat was clean, great price, and easy to access from hotel. It is a charming facility, with great staff. I would stay there again. It is only one block from the city square with lots of activities and shopping. -
