  I loved the fact that it was peaceful in the country. The memorials of Normandy was very close. Mont St Michel is only an hour and a half drive. The staff was very friendly, and even offered to make us food to go when we left before breakfast. - Dog friendly

  Ett en mäktig fortifierad gård mitt ute i ingenstans. Mycket bra val om man planerar att köra runt och se andravärldskrigetsevärdheter. Utah beach, Carentan, Omaha beach och amerikanska kyrkogården ligger alla inom 20-30 minuters bilfärd. En femminuters bilfärd ner till kusten och Grandcamp erbjuder restauranger och caféer. En mysig hembakad frukost dukas upp varje dag och man får möjlighet att dricka nymjölkad mjöl - What a pleasant surprise we had to see the lovely L'Hermerel situated deep in manicured farmland, with the chateau inside a medieval style enclosure. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed rooms, and newly installed bathrooms. Proprietress Agnes was a gem of efficiency, great restaurant recommendations and local tales. The breakfast was in the chateau dining room and included homemade and local cheeses, jams, butters and various milks from the farm's dairy. L'Hermerel is - A relaxed countryside location, on a working dairy farm, the kids loved seeing the cows. The family were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. A perfect spot for exploring the historic beaches as well as many other things to do in the area. There were little thoughtful touches throughout the room which made a big difference. The breakfast was amazing with lots of local produce every morning.
