  We have been using the Balinese for 10 years and it has always been a good stay. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The staff have been great and have even taken personal time to help. The location is great, close enough to central Cairns, but far enough away where you don't have to put up with the noise and traffic. We have tried a co... vad folk säger » uple of the other "Better" grade hotels, but we always go back to the Balinese. - Lovely comfortable room, felt like a really good hotel in Bali. The kitchen is great, we were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves. Basic breakfast but good to have :) Oh and we got an early check in too which we appreciated.

  Really friendly reception staff, nice comfortable room with nice balcony, good bed and overall a good place to stay. Excellent location on the esplanade and ideal for a walk. Nearby enough to bars/restaurants but far enough away that you don't get the noise.   There was nothing at all to like, in fact, the place was a health and safety issue. We are going to make a legal complaint regarding the safety of the self contained cabins, plus their fees are not what they advertise, in fact more.

  This is such a friendly hotel and the staff were so helpful it was a pleasure to stay there. Our room was pretty standard but good enough and very clean. About ten minutes walk into town which was far enough out to be quiet and peaceful from the night life.Loved the local connection to Papua New Guinea and the artwork at the hotel. The manager, Rosemary, was very helpful. We arrived a number of hours before we were supposed to check in and our room was already ready for us. The manager helped us book our tours and even drove us to the wharf on the day, so we wouldn't be late and this was greatly appreciated.

  The Managers couldn't have been more helpful. We stayed with our extended family and the kids were welcomed and we were able to invite other people over to enjoy the facilities as well.   I was there with my wife and two kids (2&5) in May and had a great experience. The apartments are big, clean, comfortable and with everything you may need (washing machine, dryer, kitchen, big fridge, nice TV, wireless internet). The best of all is the welcoming and constant support from Graham, he runs it and was - The thing that impressed me the most at this resort apartment is the owner's (Graham) services. From the moment we checked in right to the morning we checked out, we were looked after very well. Graham helped us with directions to places we want to go, he booked tours for us and even gave us his discounts. Our 2 bedroom apartment was a good comfortable size for a family of 4. Everything was as expected at 3 star standard.
