Max and Andrew are the nicest, friendliest hosts you could ever wish for. We spent two wonderful days at their paradise, breathtaking walks starting at the doorstep, coming back at half 4 to find tea and scones waiting... Lovely dining in the evening....Will definitely return and recommend EVERYONE to spend some time here to get away from it all!

We were very impressed with everything from the moment we arrived.
The food was that delicious we decided to dine in the Restaurant on every night of our stay(four nights).
Carol and her staff made us feel very welcome and nothing was to much trouble for them.
We very much look forward to a return visit. -

The hotel is situated right in the middle of one of the most iconic Georgian buildings in the UK. The decor of the hotel is certainly in keeping with the grandeur of its location and the spa and restaurant were faultless.
The service provided by the staff was impeccable - which is a first in my experience! All the staff were warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Cosy, inviting - just right when the weather was dreadful! Penny is an excellent hostess. Food was 5 star plus. The dogs were a bonus - extra pat for Paddy and Guinness! Would never stay anywhere else if we are in this area and look forward to another wonderful stay at The Greenwood. -

Me and my partner absolutely loved the place...the owner and surroundings was soooo lovely and I could tell the best accommodation we have ever stayed so far during our trips...the location also is accessible to everything we like to go and do...excellent !!!!

Can't wait to stay here again!! This is a rare find. Countryside location surrounded by Thatched roof cottages. A quirky 15th century building brimming with character, ample car-parking, cosy, clean & comfortable rooms and absolutely the best food I have tasted in a long time. Really accommodating - arrived late on Sunday night and staff stayed on to cook for me after 9 - I was starving and thought I'd have to go hungry or drive miles for a curry! Really grateful for that! Very friendly. Good bar and excellent local beer. Lovely room with really comfortable bed and great shower in the bathroom. Winsford is a beautiful small village in the middle of Exmoor and so is quite isolated and very quiet - which was fantastic for me.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The bedrooms were beautiful and well designed. The Beds were extremely comfy :) and the food delicious. The staff we're attentive and friendly. It is in a fantastic little village with smart shops. Loved the place :) -

Everything, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and well decorated. Food in the lodge was well priced and very enjoyable. Would recommend and would definitely stay again, hope to next year - Large, modern room and bathroom with wide screen HD TV and Free-view. In a quiet location but god access to a major route.
