Beautiful period house and garden located in quiet country lane with glorious walks into the hills directly behind. Walk below into the quaint village of Bowness. We loved having the excellent breakfasts and heading straight out behind the house for hill walks with tremendous views over Windermere. Extremely comfortable, clean room and all necessary facilities. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Would happily stay again and definitely recommend.

This was a really beautiful hotel. Easy to find, plenty of parking and in beautiful surroundings. I love the fact that my husband and I can relax. We love the location. We love everything about the hotel and I feel that we will become regulars. we both have very stressful jobs and we work 13 hours most days. we like the fact that nobody can contact us on our phones. There is no guilt factor about work. It is peaceful unlike London.

Everything about the Hotel is first class. From the moment we checked in the staff are so friendly and very professional everything was excellent. It was my birthday and we had chocolates left in the room and also a nice touch there had been placed a hot water bottle in the bed. Never had that before. This is the first time we have stayed in Cockermouth, and It was a pity we could not sit by the river in the evening, but the weather was too cold, hopefully we will try to stay when the weather gets warmer. -
