We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. We had not stayed in a Youth Hostel before but it really suited us and we would definately consider going back. The children enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table. This is a fantastic place to stay in a perfect location. We travelled to Keswick by train and bus then walked to the hostel.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Food was good value, very tasty and plentiful.
Liked having a proper sheet, pillow case and clean duvet cover.
Self catering provision was excellent.
Great facilities for children (table tennis, pool, games).
Loved my stay.

It is pretty close to some good routes for walking, hiking and cycling.
The staff there are very nice and very kind. The rooms including bedrooms bathrooms, kitchen, etc., are all very clean and comfortable.

The property was convenient and clean. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The view along the park and river is beautiful. We loved it and would definitely suggest the place to others. We parked right along the road by the hostel. -

Nothing which I can point out to complaint abt this place. It is gorgeous hostel with the reasonable price in the best comfortable and perfect condition. Extemely welcoming staff. When i got delaid on the train and emailed the hostel to check they would still have someone on reception they responded straight away. Breakfast was well worth the price, it was a little noisy with kids but nothing i wouldnt have expected. My single room on the third floor was surprisingly roomy with several bathroom in the vercinity. All in all, great staff, brilliant value for money super setting (right on the lake) will deffinitely be back!

The journey north was oh so slow but the warden was quite happy for us to arrive after closing time, which was a great relief and we had a room to ourselves (two of us) so we could continue packing for the weekend.
The bunks were very comfortable and were already made up for us.
We could get a beer on arrival.

atmosphere comparing to our polish hostels but really enjoyed!!! Lovely

Excellent value for money. Exceeded our expectations for a youth hostel.......where else could you get a clean, comfortable bed and a full English breakfast for less than £30? Would have been even less if two members of our party hadn't dropped out! And a great pub just along the road!!! -

We stayed in a camping pod for the first time for two nights, the pod was clean, and surprisingly spacious! Enough room for the airbed and bags etc. There was a small heater, lamp and 2 camping chairs.

We stayed in one of the "pods". It had lighting and heating and was very cosy to stay in. Would recommend it to anyone that is wanting to camp especially if it's getting cold out. The staff were very helpful and they have a drying room for all your wet gear. If your going to the Lake District stay here. Don't miss hard knott pass for amazing views too. It's narrow for 2 cars but it's worth the climb.

This spectacularly appointed building is set slightly above the village of Grasmere. Our welcome was warm and genuine. The room was basic, (what we expected), but suited the purpose of a clean cosy place to stay at the end of an adventurous day. The breakfast was fantastic, as were the packed lunches and evening meals. The location is just sublime

We travelled with a small child and were made to feel very welcome, with the travel cot set up for us on arrival. The hostel is a lovely old building in a stunning setting and a two-minute walk from the nice shops and cafes in the village. We booked dinner at short notice and were very pleased with the quality and price of the food. I can't fault anything!

The location was superb.
In the entrance was comfy sofas and a wood burning fire very cosy. The evening meals were huge portions and yummy. The view from the kitchen was spectacular. All the facilities such as showers and toilets were clean and lots of hot water. The bedrooms were nice and warm as well. -
