Always good to find somewhere that takes dogs, and the service road for the services is a nice quiet place to walk dogs too!- especially as there were good things to sniff- due to rabbits! (according to my dog!)

As a cycling group, several of us arrived late but they kept the kitchen open late to feed us which really was appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic and set us up well for our second day of cycling! Lovely place with friendly staff.

I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but we had no problems at all. Before going i requested a newly refurbished room and it turned out to be a spacious twin, that was clean, comfortable and quiet. I do agree that the rooms are a little warm and the windows don't really open, but other than that we had a comfortable stay. I enjoyed my stay very much and the staff were friendly, although the room was small (single) it was clean and comfortable. Very clean comfortable room and bed, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. We would recommend this BnB to anyone visiting the Windermere Lake. Just a short stroll into the town of Ambleside and 1 mile to the Lake.
