We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but we had no problems at all. Before going i requested a newly refurbished room and it turned out to be a spacious twin, that was clean, comfortable and quiet. I do agree that the rooms are a little warm and the windows don't really open, but other than that we had a comfortable stay. Very quiet and adequate. Beds clean and comfy. A lovely old house full of character which had a nice feel about it but very tired and dated. No problem with that as price was fair.
