Aix is a vibrant destination, with a range of facilities and attractions from the Cezanne trail, to country walking around Mont Sainte-Victoire, and of course lots of shops including a vibrant market several days a week. Marseille is a half-hour train ride away, and we took the bus to the beautiful beach at Cassis.

We were lucky to arrive for the opening of the Christmas market. Our room (Privilege) was very large with 2 windows and mini-balcony. Large bathroom. Although we were on the second floor without an elevator, our luggage was taken care of and when the staff noticed that my husband had some mobility issues they offered the 'cargo elevator' (which is not for public use) if he ever felt too tired for the stairs.
