With a sore knee to manage we emailed ahead and were assured the doctor was only doors away which proved to be excellent. We were given an easy access room. Rob and Steve both ensured we were very comfortable. Good wifi in the dining room.
Great choice of food with efficient service for breakfast. -

Castlelodge was the best B&B experience was ever had. We stayed there with our 2 young children who loved the freedom to play outside. The owners were so friendly and welcoming we felt like we came to visit friends, not just staying at B&B. Lovely bedroom, amazing living room with a 3D TV, pool table, very comfy bed, rooms and the whole B&B equipped in everything you would need. Highly recommended

It was a real find to discover such a lovely B&B in an fabulous location. The accommodation is top notch as is the delicious breakfast! Paul and Jen are the perfect hosts and very welcoming.
They have a good knowledge of the area and suggested some interesting places to visit.
It’s one of the places that I’ve stayed in, and it was so quiet there.

The location is wonderful, rural but not far from Hay on Wye. The rooms are delightful. Lively decor, warm and inviting. Food is fantastic - first class. Nice touches with the handmade chocolates on arrival with tea/ coffee and warm oat cookies at breakfast. Lovely couple. Totally committed to high quality and organic ethos.

Lovely hotel and very warm welcome by the owners with tea and Welsh cakes. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome at all times during our stay. We wish we'd had a few more nights to stay and would definately go back.

Maxine was extremely friendly and attentive. The place is very clean and thoughtfully set out, and it has a quiet, attractive lounge. Breakfast was great, although there was rather a lot of it (not necessarily a disadvantage to those with large appetites!).
