With a sore knee to manage we emailed ahead and were assured the doctor was only doors away which proved to be excellent. We were given an easy access room. Rob and Steve both ensured we were very comfortable. Good wifi in the dining room.

Richard and Jane were very welcoming and excellent hosts throughout our stay. We were made to feel at home and that it was no trouble to ask them for anything! The breakfasts were excellent. Castlelodge was the best B&B experience was ever had. We stayed there with our 2 young children who loved the freedom to play outside. The owners were so friendly and welcoming we felt like we came to visit friends, not just staying at B&B. Lovely bedroom, amazing living room with a 3D TV, pool table, very comfy bed, rooms and the whole B&B equipped in everything you would need. Highly recommended

The bed was comfy and we slept like it was home.
The space wonderfully spacey.
It was very clean and homely.
Breakfast was fresh and tasty.
I woke up first day and wandered the local river and found wildlife and a fabulous landscapes.
We will hopefully be back. -
It was a real find to discover such a lovely B&B in an fabulous location. The accommodation is top notch as is the delicious breakfast! Paul and Jen are the perfect hosts and very welcoming.
They have a good knowledge of the area and suggested some interesting places to visit.
It’s one of the places that I’ve stayed in, and it was so quiet there.

Alles was werkelijk perfect! We hebben een geweldige tijd daar gehad, zalig biologisch ontbijt, prachtige kamer en ontzettend aardige eigenaren. Nog nooit in zo'n prachtige b&b verbleven. We kregen zelfs zelfgemaakte biologische koekjes en bonbons bij de thee en mee voor onderweg. Heerlijk ontspannen in een prachtige omgeving. We zullen hier z

from the moment we arrived our time at the red kite was absolutely superb, neil and juliette made us so welcome and with beautiful spotlessly clean accommodation, fantastic breakfast with such a choice!! i had the amazing pancakes (catering for our gluten free dietry needs), and the most beautiful views of the welsh mountains... what more could you want. thank you for our lovely stay with you. -
The location is wonderful, rural but not far from Hay on Wye. The rooms are delightful. Lively decor, warm and inviting. Food is fantastic - first class. Nice touches with the handmade chocolates on arrival with tea/ coffee and warm oat cookies at breakfast. Lovely couple. Totally committed to high quality and organic ethos.

The rooms were not only spotlessly clean they also looked and felt fresh, bright and new even though the building is very old and full of character.

Maxine was extremely friendly and attentive. The place is very clean and thoughtfully set out, and it has a quiet, attractive lounge. Breakfast was great, although there was rather a lot of it (not necessarily a disadvantage to those with large appetites!).
