The staff at Gion Maifukan could not have done enough to help us. They were attentive without being intrusive and after the first night moved us to a bigger room to accommodate the four of us.

Where does one start with Yuzuya? I stayed for two glorious nights and the place is amazing. Worth every penny: the room is beautiful, with antiques and everything just so. The highlight is the food! I had two dinners and both were some of the best food I have ever eaten. Exquisitely presented on Kyoto pottery, each dish was a work of art. Breakfast was also amazing. Owner and staffs are so friendly. I think he waited for our coming after
I confirmed arrival time because while we were walking to find Ryokan
and almost getting lost, he called us from in front of Ryokan. I was so
impressed. I got a big clean room with garden view and not close to the
street so it was quite and peaceful. This room is what I think when stay
in ryokan. Love it.

Good location, very easy to walk to main shopping area and metro stations. The public bath is very good so we choose not to take bath in the bathroom of our rooms.
