  It was just fine. Not 5 star so don't expect 5 star. Good location for visiting Carcassone without paying Carcassone prices - easy to access from the motorway nice simming pool and garden

  La Bastide Saint Martin overlooks a gorgeous piece of countryside, is set in a lovely big, sparse garden, has a great pool and it's rooms are quiet and simply, though beautifully decorated (we wanted to take the shutters home!). We knew the hotel was located outside of town but had planned to hire bikes to get around. Having don - My boyfriend & I both loved staying here, we stayed in room 3 & we were able to walk straight onto garden & to pool. We spent 1 night in the medieval city then 3 nights at La Bastide Saint Martin, it is more in the countryside & the outdoor pool is lovely for sunbathing, relaxing & switching off! One day we hired the bikes & the owner gave a map & we took the scenic route by the riverside & then over the future bridge into the centre for lunch & wine then cyc

  Enjoyed 3 nights of luxury during 5 weeks in France. Loved the quiet location (car GPS needed to find it the first time), but only a short drive into Carcassonne. Our junior suite was huge with contemporary but classic décor; separate shower & big bath, and toilet; king-size bed; block out shutters & thick walls so we slept well. Free coff... hva folk sier » ee anytime from decent machine. Breakfast (not included) was good variety of cold options. Restaurant on-site run separately with good food & goo - We received an excellent welcome from the owner who supplied us with full information about the area which we wouldn't have got from a travel book. The chateau has been restored into a contemporary hotel with excellent fittings and wi fi. Our suite was very large, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is about an 8 minute drive from Carcassonne. It is worth visiting the Canal du Midi at Trebes and the picturesque Legrasse.

  Visited in May by car. The reception staff was genuinely warm and helpful. Request a room with a view of Carcassonne. At night the fortress is bathed in soft light. Ignore the parking lot of the empty mall below and focus instead on the sunset to the right of the chateau. Wonderful facilities and great restaurant. Great parking. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Tea and coffee facilities in room - exceptional quality. Modern hotel and great value for money!
