  Absolutely the place to stay in Bayeux. We were upgrade to a suite which was beautiful, but noticed that the standard rooms well equally as lovely. Breakfast was excellent and reasonable...particularly when compared to hotels in Paris. They arranged tours for us, gave restaurant recommendations and directions. Could not have asked for more. The breakfast was great, especially the made to order eggs. Hotel was very quaint, clean and comfortable. We highly recommend the Villa Lara.

  The chateau is a unique place to stay. It's a country manor house that has been beautifully decorated in a period fashion with sumptuous wall paper, drapes, antiques and fascinating paintings, sculpture and objets d'art. You aren't staying in a museum, though, but rather a country house that feels lived in. It's authentic, not Disney-esque.
