  I expected less based on reviews (with all due respect to previous reviewers), but surprisingly staff was very service, polite and helpful, also room & bathroom were restored, neat and very clean. Location is very good: 1min walk to Voltaire Metro station (just around the corner) and 30min - Don’t let yourself be deterred by the somewhat eclectic interior decoration, the hotel offers for Paris standards a great bang for your buck ratio. Rooms are small but clean, and staff is extremely friendly and forthcoming. Metro stops Ambroise and Voltaire are within 3 minutes walking distance while place de la Bastille is a mere 6 minutes away by foot. On your way to Bastille is the lively Rue de la Roquette with plenty of nice little restaurants and bars.
