The house was purpose-built for a B and B so was modern but built in a very traditional manner with traditional materials and even a real thatched roof. So we really enjoyed the feeling of being in a real Norman home.

We loved the location of the hotel which is in the country side but two minutes from the little town. The owners have a restaurant on site and make the most delicious meals with a varied menu. The owners are a charming couple who are ready to help you with suggestions of nearby sites. Honfleur is 15 minutes away and the most charming town not to be missed.

The owner Henrich went out of his way every day to ensure our needs were met. This is a very knowlegable and engaging hotel owner. Auberge de La Claire felt like a home away from home for us. After our 2nd night stay there we decided to stay over one more. We immensly enjoyed the intimate bar at the reception area.

We found Henrick to be very helpful w/ restaurant recommendations
and reservations (we don't speak French). He even put us in a room
that allowed us to just open the door to get to our car and to walk our
