  We loved the open log fire which welcomed us on arrival, before dinner and even breakfast. The staff were charming and more than helpful both evenings and at breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and the surrounding area of Nuits-st-Georges was pleasant also. Great location for a stop over or a wine trip i - Chateau de la Berchere was a wonderful experience, and we wish we could have stayed longer than the one night we had there. A 500+ year old Chateau, it had all the old-world charm expected, super friendly staff offering great service, a very nice little pool in the outer palace garden, a lovely breakfast, and comfortable rooms. It is close to the Nuits-Saints-Georges city center (5 mins drive).
