  Yes, the place is old and run down, but if you're looking for a clean, budget-friendly place, it's fine. Great shower. We got a free upgrade to a room with a king-size bed, so that was very nice. The location is great. Very central and a short walk or drive to many restaurants and beaches. It is waterfront on a nice beach, but most of the units... wat mensen zeggen » do not have direct views of the water. - The location is very good and on the beach which could be dangerous due to high currents but is very nice when the water is calm. The rooms are huge and kept clean. They offer free breakfast (some pastries, bananas, juice, coffee, and tea) which is very convenient to start a busy day on Kauai. We liked our stay in Sands hotel and will definitely go there again.

  The Coral Reef delivered more than expected on nearly every level. We experienced beautiful sunrises and watched tai chi over our coffee each morning. The beach and ocean-side bike and walking path were literally steps from our room. We enjoyed an unexpected visit from an Hawaiian Monk Seal which stopped to rest on the beach directly in front of t... wat mensen zeggen » he hotel. We took long walks on the path which parallels the coastline and were rewarded with spectactular vistas along the way. Our room was clean wi - The staff was very Feriendörfer! It was like Bering in a Big family! They always took time to support us or to give us very good tips and were very flexible! The rooms have ocean view and it is wonderful and absolutely relaxing! The rooms are comfortable and the furnish is very nice! The breakfast is'nt opulently, but enough and very healthy and yummy!! We enjoyed it every morning! We can absolutely recommend this hotel !!!

  A fantastic location (enhanced by our free up grade to an ocean view room - right on the beach with the sunrise in our window). Staff were great and the new introduction of a free continental breakfast was a great way to start the day. Easy to get to all parts of the beautiful island of Kauai and next to the Coconut Marketplace and other places to... wat mensen zeggen » shop and eat. Why pay top dollar when you can stay in such a great place as The Islander ? - We were lucky enough to be upgraded to room 208. This a one bedroom suite above the lobby, that weirdly enough comes with it's own dedicated car space. It was a great room...spotless, well designed, had a great view of the ocean, and a comfortable bed. We only stayed two nights, and wished we could have stayed longer. For us, this hotel was far better than the Marriott Courtyard, which is located in the same area.

  The hotel has a great location. It is located on a beach, about 10 minutes from the airport, and about equal distance to the end of the highway in the north and to the west. Passing in front of the hotel is a pedestrian walkway on which one can walk to a small commercial center for dining and shopping. There is also a concrete sidewalk along the beach for those who enjoy walking as well as a long beach front for those - The room was available 2 hours early and 2 hour late check out no charge.   The ocean front view was absolutely breathtaking looking onto the wild Wailua Bay. The flat was spacious and nicely furnished. The kitchen, bathroom, living room was extremely well-equiped as if we would have stepped in the home of friend who lives there. The location is good with shops and restaurants in a walking distance. We liked the location, not as busy and people congested as the Poipu area. Loved everything about it.

  It was perfect for our overnight business trip. We held our training right in our suite!! Lots of room. The full kitchen and living room was a PLUS!! Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy but will definitely return! - Front office staff most helpful and cheerful. Truly Hawaiian! Unit was clean, bright, and airy.
