Enjoyed 3 nights of luxury during 5 weeks in France. Loved the quiet location (car GPS needed to find it the first time), but only a short drive into Carcassonne. We received an excellent welcome from the owner who supplied us with full information about the area which we wouldn't have got from a travel book.
The chateau has been restored into a contemporary hotel with excellent fittings and wi fi. Our suite was very large, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is about an 8 minute drive from Carcassonne. It is worth visiting the Canal du Midi at Trebes and the picturesque Legrasse.

This is a chic hotel right in the middle of Mende. The parking is a bit of a challenge but not too troublesome. An excellent hotel, redoing all of its rooms. Very friendly and competent front desk, able in English and helpful. Nice new rooms and very nice modern ensuite bathrooms, very clean, good linens and towels, and quiet for sleeping. Do not miss the dining room for the evening meal - the menu is extensive and the cooking excellent.

Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Always felt that the staff were happy to be there. Hotel was really well decorated and clean. Breakfast and the one meal we had there was fresh, tasty and plentiful. We would have liked a kettle so that we could make a drink in the night if we wanted.
