  Where to start... This was like dropping into a piece of paradise. Located 5km from the city of Carcassonne, so we needed a car to get there but well worth the drive! Lovely chateau, staff, amenities and food. The staff was very helpful in giving us directions. Allowed me to practice my French by not directly converting to English (until I struggl... cosa dice la gente » ed for the words). I felt even more at home when I discovered the little french kitten in the courtyard! Surrounded by vineyards, our walk through the - Stayed for 2 nights so we could explore the medieval city which is a short drive away. This is certainly worth a visit. The Chateau is a fabulous old building with bags of character although worn in parts. Room was adequate with view over the grounds. Restaurant is closed Monday evenings so we ate in town. We booked to eat on the Tuesday evening and had set menu which included bottle of wine. Meal and wine was ok. Busy restaurant so might be wise to book in advance.
