  My room is 306, the room is clean, tidy and pretty quiet too. I like it very much! The reception ladies are friendly and helpful. But only one person to serve in the evening time seems under pressure.   This is such a friendly hotel and the staff were so helpful it was a pleasure to stay there. Our room was pretty standard but good enough and very clean. About ten minutes walk into town which was far enough out to be quiet and peaceful from the night life.Loved the local connection to Papua New Guinea and the artwork at the hotel. Rosemary arrang... cosa dice la gente » ed a boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef with Compass Cruises which was a fantastic day and great value - Location was convenient to the "Esplanade" and local shopping and restaurants. The manager, Rosemary, was very helpful. We arrived a number of hours before we were supposed to check in and our room was already ready for us. The manager helped us book our tours and even drove us to the wharf on the day, so we wouldn't be late and this was greatly appreciated.

  friendly and helpful staff - The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was the best we have had so far in Australia. The hotel was well situated for the City and had a great atmosphere.

  Great place. If you're looking for somewhere to party & have a laugh then this is the place. Stayed in a four bed room with an ensuite shower & toilet which were cleaned everyday. Staff were friendly & helpful along with the tour desk. The club though is brilliant!! Large & loud & does $10 meal/drink deal which was a life save... cosa dice la gente » r. Would stay here again whenever in Cairns. - Stayed from 19.2.13 - 26.2.13 in room 417 and had an awesome stay. I went with 3 people from work in Brisbane as a get away. We hardly ended up leaving at all because everything was there. I'll be booking again soon. Very hard to fault! Thanks to all the Gilligan's team.

  We have been using the Balinese for 10 years and it has always been a good stay. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The staff have been great and have even taken personal time to help. The location is great, close enough to central Cairns, but far enough away where you don't have to put up with the noise and traffic.   Absolutely amazing place to stay, with great staff and superb accommodation. I arrived from my flight at about 5am, 9 hours before check in. This wasnt a problem, was shown straight to the guest lounge and was able to get some sleep and a shower and wait in comfort. The pool was gorgeous, the breakfast was superb, and the ho - We really liked the layout of Palm Royale and so many swimming pools from which to choose.There are plenty of options for ordering meals but they are brought in as I dont think there was a restaurant available to guests. Buffet breakfast is available on site. Red rooster is nearby and a shopping centre within close walking distance.Security staff constantly patrol the site. The room was very good value for money and we would stay again.

The Staff were kind, courteous, helpful and always well mannered. Our room and Linen were kept clean and tidy at all times.
