Our rooms were very large with great toiletry amenities. The hotel is in a great location, just 5 minutes ride to Acadia Visitor Center and to the restaurants, shopping and pier. The big indoor pool with the hot tub was a great addition to relax after a long day of hiking. There is also an outdoor pool, but we didn't use it. Coffee and tea was ... lo que la gente dice » available throughout the day at the lobby. Tasty cookies were served at the lobby in the afternoons, they were great addition. - The staff at the hotel were great. The view out of the window in our room or in the great room were worth the price of the stay. The evenings had a pianist with fingers that danced across the keys stimulating memories of yesterday. Both of the pools were spectacular with the indoor pool area reminiscent of scenes from Cocoon. The view from the Looking Glass has to be the best view in the area.

The Black Horse Inn is a cross between a B&B and a motel. It's a relatively new building, so everything works properly, as one would expect in a well-run motel, but the rooms and setting are more comfortable, more like a B&B. We especially liked the quietness, even though the Atlantic coast highway was very accessible, as well as the view ... lo que la gente dice » from the dining area of the large open field behind the property. Fran, the new owner, is a remarkable host, and if you speak even a little Italian, s - we stayed at the Inn for week in June and found it most quaint. From the moment we arrived , Fran, the Inn keeper/owner was most gracious, escorting us to our rooms to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, to a wonderful more than continental breakfast daily We felt more like we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast rather than just a hotel. The Inn was very clean and the gardens beautiful. We would highly recommend staying at The Black Horse as it also centrally located to many coastal de
