The staff were exceptional in every manner. Each one we spoke to were very polite and accomodating, especially when booking out as we were leaving at 6am the next morning and they prepared a fantastic breakfast which was delivered 30mins before we departed at 5:30am. It was really nice to relax in the pool after a long day walking and enjoying the activities and beautiful scenery of the lakes. The breakfast was delicious. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter service first class. We found all staff very helpful and there to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. I highly recommend this place. Friendly staff, wonderful choice and quality of breakfasts. The owner, told me he used to own a fish restaurant so that's obviously why the fish dishes are so perfect. Huge choice and excellent quality. Dining room is modern and there was a good atmosphere at breakfast time. Staff were efficient and friendly. Our budget room was clean and cofortable. Perfect for our stay. Limited parking on the premises but lots of free and unrestricted parkining across the road.
