Midweek rates in November were very good. Conveniently located hotel near the centre with plenty of off-street parking, which a lot of places in Ambleside do not have. The bedroom was not large but adequate, the kingsize bed being comfortable. Large bathroom with spa bath. Cold buffet breakfast was extensive and very good. Pleasant helpful efficient staff.

We stayed in the new Silver Suite - it was extremely comfortable with a most beautiful view across the water.
Needless to say, but the food was magnificently presented and absolutely delicious.

booked for two nights but had to leave after just one night due to

They also has great suggestions for child-friendly places to eat and a wonderful location where we could walk wherever we wanted to go. Steve and Vicky are very hospitable owners and personaly very nice people. One can feel they put their hert into this their work. They helped us a lot long before our travel by answering our questions (best choice of the Lakes tour, walking paths, arrival to WIndermere etc.)

Ideally located between Bowness and Windermere. 10-15 minutes stroll either way. Steve and Vicky are the friendliest B n B people that we have met (stayed in over 12 other B n Bs). Invergarry is such a welcoming place. The bed was really comfortable. We stayed in a small double but this was a reasonable size for a couple of nights and didn't feel small. Breakfast was delicious - homemade muesli, jam and marmalade. Best breakfast that we have had in a B N B. Really lovely touches in the rooms -

The hotel was so clean throughout, you could eat your meal off the floor! Breakfast was great. Our bedroom was beautifully and tastefully decorated. My boyfriend and I went for a romantic, restful weekend and that is what we got. We will definitely go again!

We stayed in room 8 and it was just as amazing as the pictures we saw on here. Huge walk in shower and free standing bath tub. Very comfortable bed and astonishing view from the private balcony. Warm and comfortable with everything we could want. Stayed in Silverdale which was large with a gorgeous bathroom and comfortable bed. this was our first visit to the lamplighter we were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff we arrived with our 2 cavalier dogs who were made a big fuss of we also were asked if we wanted to eat in a separate room so the dogs could be with us which we declined as they are more than happy to stay in their sleeping crate .the breakfas

The innkeepers were charming! The hotels rooms newly decorated and the
kingsize beds very comfortable with lovely pillows. The breakfast was
also particularly delicious, with fresh juices, Greek yogurt with berry
compote for example. They accommodated well for special vegetarian
requests, even going out for veggie sausage for us for our second

Lovely country inn with a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The public areas have a local, historic feel e.g. the downstairs bar still has the old stalls from horse drawn days; charming. The staff are friendly and efficient, the bar has a great selection of local beers and ales and the food is superb. Our room, while small, was extremely well appointed and comfortable, excellent en suite facilities with a super powerful shower, bliss.

Everything was excellent. I was there with my girlfriend and happy to stay there again. Special thanks to manager of the hotel. He was absolutely friendly and cares about us (he recommended to take hotel umbrella because rain could be later and he organized wonderful mini bus tour for us to the lakes). Breakfast also excellent (you could order classic English, continental breakfast and even salmon), wi-fi, TV provided but not so interesting because nature outside is very beautiful.

It was really nice to relax in the pool after a long day walking and enjoying the activities and beautiful scenery of the lakes. The breakfast was delicious.
